Practitioner Research- Blu

Blu is a popular street artist who likes to keep their identity hidden. Blu became popular in 1999 when he started to draw a series of illicit drawings on the historical and suburban buildings of Bologna  in Italy. In his early street art he was limited to using spray paint but in 2001 his technique really started to kick in when he started to use ordinary house paint for his work.

He has done street art all over the world including central & south America, England, Spain, Germany, Eastern Europe, and of course Italy.

Blu's art work is seen as an anarchical  revolt against contemporary art conventions and is unique in beauty.

One of Blu's best videos, "Big Bang, Big Boom."

bouncing ball exercise

For this exercise we each got a a flip book made out of 32 pages which we called our frames, using a sheet which already had a guide on it we drew the action line on frame 32 we then traced it back to frame 1. From here we used the sheet again to draw the 8 key frames, the key frames were 1,7,12,17,21,25,28 & 31. Then for the last touch to the animation we added in the other frames these are called the inbetween frames, these frames make the animation look smoother. Then for the added touch we coloured in the ball or but a design on it.
